Despite all the headlines and rhetoric of conflict here is a positive project for understanding and co-existence- Heavens Field Farm- where the emphasis is on our belonging to the land, not ownership. A small group of Israelis and Palestinians are working together to create an organic farm- a piece of land where both sides will aspire to respect each other and the Land that is our common source- of life and strife. Tu b'shvat in Israel! come join the Conservative Yeshiva and JiVE! at the community garden on Derech Hevron, 148 on Thursday morning (2/9) from 9:45-1pm. We'll be planting and mulching in the garden, then sitting down over some sources about gardens in cities and Jerusalem's urban planning. The environmental movement is mostly comprised of people not interested in making a bi-partisan appeal- and we need to get over the perspective in which its "us against them" and find a deeper language of working for all of us... The casual unity many of us feel with the broader Left is quite an impediment to the flowing of the environmental values across the political spectrum. Come out and join the Eco-Service Corps and Eliezer Tzion build a mud-oven at Hadvir Hahadash- a public special ed. school in the Armon haNatziv neighborhood. We'll spend two days mixing local materials to create an oven that the students can bake bread and matzot in and learn how to mix mud, build and maintain these incredible community building structures! Friday, 1/14 9am-12- we're in Armon Hanatziv (just off the 8 and 12 bus) starting a mud-building project for a special needs school. Also some gardening and decorating tire-terraces for their garden.
Friday 1/28 from 9am-12: We'll be at the Givat Mordechais new community garden working with locals to build some new raised beds.

    Come Join (and bring) children from all religions to join in a prayer for rain at Ein Chiniya spring. Monday, December 6th, there will be a musical gathering at Ein Chiniya (just past the checkpoint by Ein Yael, southwest Jerusalem) with musicians Ehud Banai, Shlomo Bar and Khalil al-Mustafi.
